  4. Note: This is/was the final public version of QuickCIS, and offers several
  5. advantages over previous versions.  However, since it is a beta version, it
  6. is included here as only an optional replacement for QUICKCIS.PRG, also
  7. included in this package.

  10. a) More adjustments to the download routines, to better ensure a clean
  11. exit, after a d/l is completed.  Should resolve problems with both email
  12. and forum downloads.
  13.  
  14. b) Files List deletes are now simpler.  Items are numbered, and deleting
  15. is done by choosing which number to delete, rather than typing in the
  16. entire filename+userID.

  18. c) Removed an old routine which got rid of the brackets around the
  19. UserID in the Userlist routines.  No longer necessary, and in fact causes
  20. problems with current CIS software.

  22. d) Note: there is an undocumented method of changing your CIS Mail
  23. defaults so that deleted CIS Mail is retained, hidden, for a later
  24. "undelete."  Mail is saved for about 48 hours, in case QuickCIS or thick
  25. fingers accidently delete your mail.  If you need to know how to set this
  26. variable, ask me in email.

  33. a) Forum download glitches in the previous beta have been fixed.
  34.  
  35. b) The routine to capture CIS Mail has been extensively reworked to
  36. improve problems with receiving Internet mail.  The result is a small
  37. slowdown in capturing messages - maybe half a second per message - but no
  38. more downloading the wrong file, when Internet and CIS/binary messages are
  39. intermixed.

  41. c) A booboo in the built-in editor still limited users to a 2k message,
  42. instead of allowing the new 10k size.  EdHak was unaffected.

  50. a) QuickCIS has been updated to work with the new forum message software.
  51. Primarily, this means you can now create messages up to about 10k in
  52. length, or with a maximum 250 lines.
  53.  
  54. b) The bug causing 10 characters of a message to be cut off while using
  55. the Output function has been fixed.
  56.  
  57. c) The bug causing problems after an XYZ.TTP file download has been fixed
  58. (I hope - I could not reproduce the bug on my system).

  60. d) The bug causing problems counting INTERNET email messages has been
  61. fixed.

  63. e) When choosing a file to download in the Read Messages function, the
  64. User ID of the uploader is now "attached" to the filename.  This prevents
  65. problems in forums where there are two files with the same name.

  67. f) The speed of characters sent to the modem while dialing has been slowed
  68. down.  You may want to play with the Speed button in View Config.
